Through the combination of three existing operational buildings (aquatic centre, ice arena and curling rink) and major facility enhancements, the Leduc Black Gold Centre and today’s 309,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose recreation facility is one of the largest recreation centres in the province of Alberta. The building was designed featuring innovative floor plans and finishings while embodying a unified look.

Throughout the design phase, Arch|TB worked meticulously to ensure barrier free access for all facility users and visitors. Arch|TB was awarded the 2010 Stephen Barr Award of Excellence for Recreation Facility Design for the Leduc Recreation Centre and the City of Leduc was awarded the prestigious 2010 Percy Wickman Accessibility Award from the Canadian Paraplegic Association.
