Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Project Value: $3.3 Million
Architecture | Tkalcic Bengert was commissioned by the Layfield Group to provide the design, contract documentation and construction administration services for the Layfield Plastics Office/Warehouse Facility in Edmonton, Alberta.
The facility was comprised of a 5,000 sq.ft. single storey office component with a 30,000 sq.ft. warehouse/material storage/production facility component.
The office was composed of administrative offices, boardrooms, lunchrooms, washrooms, shower facilities and shipping, receiving and reception areas. The warehouse was constructed of red-iron steel structure with block and insulated panel infill.
Developed with a water retention pond or “moat” at the entry, the pond was used as part of a water retention system and a display for the installation of Layfield’s bank and pond liners. Further infrastructure was provided for the pond to be used as a grey water source to supplement the building’s existing sanitary systems.
