The objectives of the major modernizations to École J.H. Picard School are to conduct Mechanical and Electrical infrastructure upgrades and to modernize portions of this school, which was built from 1954 – 1965. The school had antiquated finishes and was heavily laden with asbestos and other hazardous materials.

The project also featured window replacements and upgrading to the washrooms, including barrier free access.

An exterior entry element feature will be added. Issues with fire rating codes needed to be addressed as well as correcting renovation anomalies from previous renovations.
