Location: Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
Project Value: $40 Million

The design team at Architecture | Tkalcic Bengert was commissioned to design a new Conklin Community Recreation Centre and park lands located on a selected site in the core of Conklin, on the decommissioned airstrip North of Father Mercredi’s Trail and East of Northland drive. The building and site design are based upon providing the Conklin Community Recreation Centre with a project that will provide an excellent social hub for the community of Conklin and surrounding areas, facilitating the current and future programs of the various partners and stakeholders.

The preferred option has the potential to establish an exciting and interesting siting and building solution, which will enhance the neighbourhood. The project will strive to serve as an example of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and best urban design practices.
