This project is a prime example of a transitional housing and community hub concept that integrates sympathetically into an inner-city community on existing open space with a high degree of social value to the community.

The Boyle Community Centre, Community Park, and Transitional Housing Centre comprise Phase One of the Boyle Renaissance Master Plan, a city-led initiative to revitalize an inner city, multi-block area east of downtown. The Master Plan provides for a variety of housing, a network of walkable open areas, and community-building amenities (e.g. community centre, daycare, community gardens, sculpture park), all tied together by the notion of the “braid”. The Phase One components were envisioned together to be the initial centre-piece of the Master Plan, and its implementation engages (and accommodates) various community and civic stakeholder groups.
